June Employee of the Month: John Zamora

John Zamora is an incoming senior at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where he is majoring in Marketing with a minor in Strategic Management, and works with EcoWash to run the Southern Twin Cities Division. Originally from Apple Valley, Minnesota, John has a passion for sales and building meaningful relationships with customers. As a first-generation college student, he is driven to make the most of every opportunity. John has consistently been one of EcoWash’s top performers, regularly ranking among the company leaders in sales while completing production at one of the fastest paces in the company.

Here is our brief interview with John about his experience at EcoWash so far:

What made you choose to work at EcoWash?

I chose to work at EcoWash because I wanted an internship that would help me develop real-world sales and management skills. I also liked that the company provides growth opportunities and rewards hard work throughout the season. Gaining hands-on business experience was exactly what I was looking for, and EcoWash seemed like the perfect fit.

What have you enjoyed the most from your internship so far? 

The part that I have enjoyed the most is constantly meeting new people and seeing my hard work pay off. It’s been amazing to see my confidence in sales increase and to watch myself improve each week by learning from my mistakes. I’ve also enjoyed the opportunity to manage my own crew and help every customer find solutions that fit their needs, as each customer and situation is different.

What skills have you learned from your internship so far?

I have definitely strengthened my communication, sales, and customer service skills by learning how to handle objections and build trust with customers. I’ve also improved my time management, problem-solving, and the ability to stay motivated in a competitive environment. I have gained valuable life skills and leadership experience by managing projects from start to finish while ensuring customers have a great experience throughout the entire process. This focus on customer satisfaction has helped me consistently deliver quality work and earn only 5-star reviews.

What are you looking forward to the most?

I’m looking forward to continuing to challenge myself, finishing the internship strong, and making the most of the remaining opportunities I have with EcoWash. The experience I’ve gained has helped me better understand what it takes to run a business, which aligns with my long-term goal of owning my own company someday.

I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of the EcoWash team and appreciate all the mentorship and experience I have gained so far.
