What is the point of having my driveway sealed?

Before understanding its importance, we must first discuss what it means to seal a driveway. By doing so, EcoWash puts a liquid layer, often water-based, over your concrete driveway.

Why do this? For starters, sealing your driveway can protect it from the UV rays of the sun or the harsh rain.

Water in general, is a big cause of damage to driveways. When there are cracks and holes in the driveway, and water seeps into them, the water can eventually freeze, creating larger cracks.

Sealing your driveway can also protect it from chemicals such as salt/antifreeze during the winter, or oil and gas that could leak from a motorized vehicle or a grill.

Sealing your driveway also helps refine its look, aesthetically. The texture becomes smooth, and the look becomes dark and sleek. Because of its sleek and smooth look, the driveway is easier to routinely clean due to the lack of areas that can catch debris and dirt.

That being said, by sealing your driveway, there is less maintenance to be done, and it saves homeowners a lot of money in the long run.

Over here at EcoWash, we recommend sealing your driveway every two to three years. The weather in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, and Iowa may cause more damage to your home, causing more needed maintenance.

We also recommend sealing your driveway in the summer months or at temperatures above 40 degrees during the 24-48 hour curing process to allow the seal to properly dry in a timely manner. A day with lots of sun allows for a quicker drying process as well.

The driveway is the first thing someone sees before they approach your home, don’t you want it to look perfect?

Driveways may look indestructible, constantly facing cars, trucks, vans and other heavy objects everyday. However, they are a lot more sensitive than one might think. Protecting your driveway by sealing it is a step in the right direction.
