If you love Woodbury, Edina, and Eagan…why not give Shakopee a try!? This suburb of over 47,000 people is a popular one in Minnesota.

However, what differentiates Shakopee from other Minnesota suburbs is that it's home to something special: Valleyfair. Valleyfair is the largest amusement park in the Upper Midwest. Not only does Shakopee’s amusement park have multiple roller coasters, but it also features a waterpark.

The city of Shakopee’s website describes it as the place “where the Midwest comes alive — all year long”

Shakopee is also known for its rich history. The town gets its name from Chief Shakopee of the Mdewakanton Dakota people. The Mdewakanton Dakota people play a vital role in today’s society as well as the beginning of Shakopee times. The city is pretty old, as it was founded in 1851.

If you’re looking for live music, no need to worry. Shakopee has something for everyone. While there are paid shows at the Mystic Lake Amphitheater and Canterbury Park, there are also a variety of shows that residents can attend for free! Rhythm on the Rails, Shakopee Bowl, Badger Hill Brewing, Mystic Lake, and O’Brien’s Public House.

Similar to the Twin Cities, there are opportunities for shopping in Shakopee. Edina is fairly close to Shakopee, and both share the love for the Southdale Center. Shakopee Trading Post is a popular venue inside the city.

Another perk of Shakopee is that it is less than a 30-minute driving distance from Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP). Shakopee’s convenient location calls for travel opportunities as a resident of the city.

If it wasn’t already great, Shakopee is noted for its financial and economic growth to make it what it is today. Its entertainment factor, great shopping, convenience to the airport, and access to live music are just four of the many great parts of Shakopee.

Its continuous growth makes it a desirable suburb to live in. Visit, stop by, or move to Shakopee today! If you are looking for a high-quality pressure washing and deck staining company in Shakopee, contact EcoWash.
