In the Eastern part of the state of Iowa, sits the city of Cedar Rapids. Cedar Rapids is around an hour drive or less to popular cities in Iowa, such as Iowa City and Dubuque. It is also about a two-hour drive to the state’s capital city of Des Moines. Nearby, you can find Iowa City, Marion, Hiawatha, North Liberty, & Coralville.

One of the many unique parts about Cedar Rapids, is that it is often referred to as the “City of Five Seasons”. After fall, winter, spring, and summer, the fifth season refers to the residents of Cedar Rapids getting to have a leisurely lifestyle to enjoy all the perks of the other seasons. The people of Cedar Rapids love to enjoy and appreciate everyday life in Iowa.
Despite the harsh winter weather, Cedar Rapids is a great city to live in if you love to be outdoors. It is home to the wonderful Cedar River Trail, Bever Park, and the Indian Creek Nature Center.
The Indian Creek Nature Center is a specific standout to the city. The center has magical trees, prairies, paths, and trails for all to explore.

Bever Park holds the famous Old MacDonald’s Farm. Visitors can enjoy and pet the lovely cows on the farm.
Another perk about Cedar Rapids? It hosts the World’s Largest Cereal Plant for Quaker Oats. In 2025, the city of Cedar Rapids broke an unofficial world record for largest breakfast cereal gathering. Nearly 2,500 people enjoyed CCap’n Crunch’s Crunch Berries at the legendary Greene Square Park,
Into art? The city also holds many beautiful murals, seen in the Czech Village and the Downtown area. Residents can also experience Grant Wood’s Studio, an American Gothic artist. There is also a free Art Museum.

In a Cedar Rapids Summer, the people love the Farmer’s Market. Fresh foods are sold from local vendors for all to enjoy. The city also has an iconic Veterans Museum and a National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library.
A great trip to Cedar Rapids is not complete without a visit to Mount Trashmore, which sits below the Czech Village and New Bohemian neighborhoods. It is a great spot for biking, walking, and hiking,
